The whole world is fighting a battle against the deadly and infectious corona virus (SARS-CoV-2). Till date there is no vaccine against corona virus. The best way to prevent infection is to strengthen your immunity. The immune system plays a vital role in protecting us from viruses and diseases. Primary immunity is given by white blood cells. Significantly there are other types of WBC’s viz, neutrophil, eosinophil, basophil, lymphocytes, and monocytes.

Immunity

A system that protects the body against disease or other potentially damaging foreign bodies such as bacteria, virus, parasite, fungi, or allergens; while distinguishing them from the body’s own healthy cells. Antibodies are produced by our white blood cells and are a major part of the body’s response to combat any infection.

    Types of immunity

    1.
    Innate immunity
It is general defense mechanisms that identify an antigen's presence in the body. These mechanisms include physical barriers such as skin, chemicals in the blood, and immune system cells that encounter foreign cells in the body.
    2.
    Adaptive immunity
Also known as active immunity, it is developed when we're exposed to diseases or when we're immunized against them with vaccines.
    3.
    Passive immunity
It is a type of immunity that is "borrowed" from another source, lasting for a short time. For example, antibodies in a mother's breast milk give a baby temporary immunity to diseases the mother has been exposed to.
